Almost overnight, Oscar Finn became a slobbering, drooling mess. He soaks through his shirts, drooling all over the front, gnawing on his sleeves. Then he moves on to my clothes. At his most recent doctor's appointment, we learned he was a little on the early side with teething, and this was of course the reason for the waterworks.
So to give Oscar something to gum and dribble into, I made him a bandana bib. It was a pretty easy little project, once I figured out the right measurements (this took several tries).

Everyone's Doing It
Recently I did this to my fingernails.
Which can only mean one thing: I think I'm cool now. So I signed up for Twitter. For the longest time I'd resisted because I just couldn't handle any more things. But now I feel left out and I resent having to have hash tags explained to me.
Truth be told, I already signed up for Twitter once before. It was four years ago and I quit after two weeks because it was unbearably annoying. But that may have had something to do with the fact that I didn't have a smartphone, only a phone phone, and received all of my tweets in a ceaseless stream of text messages.
If you would like to follow me, I'm @brianamah. Yes, I had to ask someone if you use the @. No, I don't understand why that is.
We'll see how this foray goes. It's been less than 24 hours and I'm already over it.

Fumigation Vacation: Part 2
With heavy hearts, we left our apartment (and Sarge) behind and made our way to the hotel. I'm sure for some people, a temporary displacement would be resolved by booking a suite at a luxury hotel, or perhaps an impromptu Hawaiian vacation. For us, it meant 4 nights at the Extended Stay in Woodland Hills.

And Then There Were Three (Well, Six If You Count The Pets)
Of all the excuses I've ever laid on you for sluggish blog updating, this one takes the cake. I had a baby! Yes, after 40 weeks, 17 bottles of Tums and, finally, about 3 and half hours of labor, Oscar Finn Mahoney showed up. He looked like this:

Since then he's depuffed a bit (babies are born quite puffy for whatever reason) and these days he's looking more like this:

A More Restful Bedroom
Oh hi. Happy New Year and welcome back. If anyone thought the lag in posting was owing to my having given birth, I'm sad to report that this is not the case. I'm still lumbering around impatiently.
I've already started my leave from work,

His First Room
As I mentioned previously, around about the time I painted the bathroom, I was having something of a mental/emotional breakdown about the baby's room. I knew there was plenty of time to take care of it, I knew he wouldn't have a clue what he was looking at in there anyway, and I knew there was no reason to get bent out of shape. I knew all of this, and yet the unfinishedness of it was just eating away at me. You know how they say pregnant women can sometimes be a tad irrational? Yeah, that's a thing.
